今日も楽しかった！

1月21日・22日の2日間にわたって、
サウジアラビアで「 ‘The　Global　Competitiveness　Forum 2008‘」が開催され、王族や世界各国の企業人が集まりました。
ここで、お話させていただきました。

「はじめまして。おはようございます。日本から来ました。
My name is Yasuyuki Nambu, Founder and CEO of PASONA group.
Saudi Arabia is a country that is far both in physical and cultural distance from my home country Japan.
The two countries are both a part of Asia but they seem worlds apart in many ways.
Japan enjoys a modern lifestyle, thanks to the oil from Saudi Arabia, by driving fancy cars, eating good foods and wearing brand name clothes.
But otherwise there are very few relations amongst our two countries.
I came to Saudi Arabia today with a specific mission to make Saudi Arabia and Japan closer.
Together, we can create a strong Asia for the future.
In order to do this, we need to first understand each other and create an environment where we can exchange ideas.
A couple of years ago, a 10-year-project to bring 5000 exchange students from Saudi Arabia to Japan was initiated.
Last year 300 students became the first group to come over to Japan.
For these young Saudis to come over to Japan is a good start, but we can do more.
If all of us here today can dream about what the Saudi Arabian-Japanese relationship can look like 20 years from now, we can then create specific goals and expectations for the exchange students to work towards.
Working towards a dream is what motivates me every day.
I think having a dream for the students to strive for will motivate them much more as well.
With that in mind, I would like to introduce an idea, which I have cherished in my mind.
The idea, called the “Human Capital Incubation Project”, consists of a few segments.
The first segment is to establish the Institute with a purpose of developing human resources in the planned “King Abdullah Economic City”.
The Institute is to give the youth of the country vocational training in a variety of fields, to meet the needs of corporations both at home and abroad.
Education shall include teaching them how to tackle some of the major global agendas, such as food and energy problem, so that they can become not only good business-oriented labor force but also to contribute to solving global problems in the international community.
A major goal of the Institute will be to enhance motivation towards work through our methods developed at “Jobs University”, which we established for the Japanese unemployed youth.
Learned by experience, nurturing proper motivations is an indispensable part to human capital development in addition to good vocational training.
I believe that this project will enable Saudi youth to become globally competitive.
Given the growing cooperation among countries in the GCC, we would like to invite the youth of neighboring countries to the Institute as well.
I anticipate that the Institute will develop into the leading “hub” of human capital and its benefit will extend to the regional development of the GCC countries by supplying a trained, well-motivated and global-minded labor force.
Another segment of the project is to focus on entrepreneurship, which is a requirement to achieve rapid and sustainable development for the 21st century.
I have focused on this for many years in Japan and my understanding is that the Saudi Government is also keen on fostering entrepreneurs as well.
In order for the youth of the future to succeed, they need talent and a good environment to succeed in.
But more importantly, they must have the motivation to want to succeed.
Motivation is to be able to see a specific future vision.
This future vision will become an engine of economic growth.
An entrepreneur is someone who has the power to foresee the shape to come in the future by taking a hard look at the present.
The institute will provide a great opportunity for the youth of Saudi Arabia to meet others with similar motivations.
Although, my idea may sound too ambitious or like a dream to many of you, it is the mission of us, entrepreneurs, to pursue a dream and realize it.
A few years ago, I dreamt of a way in which to grow fruits and vegetables without sun, little water and low maintenance.
Today, in our office basement, we have a　farm growing rice, tomatoes, lettuce and other vegetables with LED lights in the middle of the Tokyo financial district.
I’m convinced that with the cooperation and commitment amongst us, leading figures in many fields and from many parts of the world, to launch the Institute in Saudi Arabia would create a bright future for the Saudi youth and the world.
I’m committed to the success of this project and I seek your assistance in making this next dream a reality.

先日、ＮＨＫ大河ドラマや数々の映画の作曲や音楽監督をされている、
あの、渡辺俊幸さんをお迎えしてトークセッションをしました。

東宝映画「モスラ」シリーズ、「サトラレ」、「解夏」、NHK大河ドラマ「毛利元就」、「利家とまつ」、NHKドラマ「大地の子」、「ハルとナツ」、「海峡」、フジテレビ「優しい時間」、純音楽的作品「交響的幻想曲　能登」、「ファンファーレ・フォー・ザ・セレブレーション」、祝典序曲「輝ける勇者たち」（防衛庁・自衛隊50周年記念曲）や、2005年愛知万博の開会式など、どれも素晴らしい。
ほんとに僕は渡辺さんに聞きたいことがたくさんあって1時間があっという間でした。

渡辺さんというと、壮大で心に染み入るようなシンフォニックなイメージがあったんですが、
実はドラマーを目指して中学生のときに上京されたそう。
そこから、フォークグループ「赤い鳥」のドラマーとしてプロ活動に入られ、編曲に興味を持ち始め、さだまさし氏と出会いプロデューサーとしてご活躍されました。
そして、アメリカで映画「未知との遭遇」の音楽に出会い、「こんな現代的でシンフォニックな音楽をつくっていきたい！」という夢をもってバークリー音楽院に留学。

そういうお話を伺うなかで、僕なりのポイントがありました。
その１、人との出会い
その２、その出会いの中で自信がつくように勇気付けられること
その3、自分の役割を知る・自分の信念を持つこと
その４、夢を持ち続けること　夢は変わりますよね。夢はすなわち望み・希望であり人生の目標です。日々目標をもつのともたないのではまったくその後が違います。渡辺さんも夢が変わってどんどん挑戦されています。
その５、育む　自分に投資して、勉強する　今年のキーワードです。
その６、音楽家はサービス精神がいる
その７、オンリーワンを目指す。
考えてみるとこれらは、どんな人にも成功するために共通することですよね。

音楽を続けながら働くことができる、そういう働き方ができるようなサポートが
パソナミュージックメイト事業です。
音楽を通してビジネス界を変えてもらいたい。
音楽で心豊かにする、優しい心をもつことというのはビジネスマンにとって必要です。
音楽家が仕事の仲間としているだけで、会社が楽しく明るくなります。そして、音楽家にとっても自分の再発見につながり新たな目標が生まれるかもしれません。希望を失わずさらに自分を高めていく。
そして、経済界と音楽界がもっと相互につながりあい日本の文化を発展させることにつながればいいですよね。
